A Very Diablo 3 Mother's Day

Mother's Day was two Sunday's ago, but for me "Mother's Day" is this blur of time from weeks before, to about a week after.

My mom died in 2008. So while I never gave Mother's Day much thought before my mom died... these days it's a constant reminder from the time spam starts getting sent (ex. mom wants a new iPad) until the holiday is over.

Of course I miss my mom, and last year I played Broken Sword in her memory. My mom always liked adventure games like Nancy Drew. I had bought her Professor Layton just before she died, and got to see how happy she was to receive it!

This year, kind of randomly I bought this game Jeanne d'Arc which happens to be by the developers of Professor Layton (Level-5). It's a fun Joan of Arc themed spin on Final Fantasy Tactics, another favorite game of mine!

Now for Diablo 3!

Great game! I killed Diablo / beat the game last night with my friend JD, former coworker at this company we built in college that I keep forgetting the name of. I also played with another friend whose mom died just a few months after mine did. He helped us beat Belial, lord of lies, at the end of Act II.

Honestly, it helps to do both of the above:
  • Enjoy yourself with a friend / keep yourself occupied
  • Talk to someone who gets it, who lived through the same thing
I've sunk more hours into Diablo 2 than any other game. Diablo 3 doesn't disappoint! And it's a good time for me to have a fun game to play with good friends.
